- Bobb Chevrolet has filed a petition with the City of Columbus for demolition of their property for parking. This permit was reviewed at the July Civic Association meeting. After review at SPCA meeting, the petition was reviewed by the Southside Commission.
- Village Pet is leaving their Whittier Street location for new diggs at 740 South High Street. So just drive west on Whittier and head north on High Street and look for the new store at the corner of Frankfort and High Street.
- Children's Hospital has demo'd the Parson's Avenue lot that will become Family Dollar. Construction has begun and Children's hours for work at the sit are from 7:30 AM to 5:00PM. Hours may change when interior work begins. Hopefully, noise will be a minimum when interior work may run later into the day. - Post Office closings are threatening our Whittier Street Branch. Watch the news for what goes down.
- Brown Bag Deli now offers Johnson's Ice Cream. Stop in and try it if you have never had it. It is a Bexley staple.
- Wine, wine and more wine. Zeta Emporium in the Short North has monthly tastings. It is a great value, and Bill and Lisa always feature great selections from around the world. Next Tasting October 29.
- Just because Summer cannot go on forever does not mean we can't have socials year round. The tradition continues and we always need host or hostesses to sponsor Just provide your house or yard, plates, utensils, glasses, and napkins. The attendees bring the food and drink! - John Sowers, resident on Stanley Avenue, has announced his intention to run for the 25th District seat in the Ohio House of Representatives. He is seeking Dan Stewart's seat. Dan is not eligible to run for another consecutive term. John has been active in Schumacher Place Civic Association for the past 8 years.
